X-banner sizes
Also called: Xバナー, X-stand banner
An X-banner hangs on an X-shaped stand by its four corners. In Korea 600 × 1800 mm is the de facto standard, with 500 × 1600 mm for narrow shop fronts. One major Korean printer asks for 2 mm bleed and a 10 mm safe margin; because the corners are punched, keep text away from them.
Allowances vary dramatically between countries. Japan's Raksul asks for 20 mm of bleed and a 40 mm text margin on its X-banners — ten times the Korean figure — so a file cannot simply be moved from one country's printer to another's. Put the key message in the top third: the bottom 30 cm is hidden behind the stand's legs and is below eye level anyway.
Sizes at a glance
Bleed is how far artwork must extend past each trim edge; safe is how far inside the trim line text and logos should stay. Print shops ask for slightly different values, so always follow the file guide of the shop you order from.
